Well, Daniel's tall now, and that's scary! What the heck! It's especially weird because I have a super-old family picture on my desk from when he was like 2 or 3 years old, so he's perpetually the baby in my mind.
This week was good! We had a ton of good new investigators this week, which is always exciting. At the beginning of the week we visited someone in our former investigators' book, (another) Chow Taai and her niece Siu Mahn. Chow Taai lives with her younger sister and her 3 daughters, and we found out that the brother-in-law just passed away a couple of weeks ago. The younger sister has some mental troubles (we don't know of what kind) so can't work, so Chow Taai is now supporting 4 other people on what I imagine is a pretty small wage, and is very stressed out. It was just another testimony to us that God knows us and knows our needs. Chow Taai is really great and dedicated, already sitting through 3 hours of church on one invitation, despite having just gotten off the night shift at work. And Siu Mahn is pretty much our new best friend-- she's super sarcastic and chill and loves us, even though she's only 10 years old. She's seriously the 10-year-old version of one of our other investigators, Bobo, who we also get along with super well. We're really excited about them.
We also started teaching these 2 girls we met on the street, Shelley and Aimee, and they're super cute and already like us a lot. Shelley and I found out we have the same birthday! We're going to have a party together. Also, it freaked me out when she said she was turning 16, and I asked her what year she was born in, she said 1997-- it made me feel really old, because I don't feel that far away from 16, but 1997 is Daniel's age, and he's the baby! Weird! But she and Aimee seemed to really get gospel stuff too, which was awesome!
Then Saturday night at English class we met this girl named A-Ji who the Elders found on the street and briefly taught her, then she came to 3 hours of church on Sunday, helped the Young Women clean after church, waited another half hour for her fellowshipper to be free, heard Lesson 1, then had her lesson go longer because she wanted to know more about what we were teaching her (this all by her choice, by the way), then finally had to leave because she was going to go do service at an old folks' home. This girl is AMAZING!! We were like "you're already a better person than we are!" So golden. We're super excited about her.
Anyway, not much else going on this week. The elders here keep us entertained on a regular basis. It's good to hear you're all getting started on indexing! Welcome to my life at CPE.
