Hi family!
Sorry, no time to write ever these days, but here are the weird/good/funny things that happened this week.
1) We have facebook now??? What the weird?? The Zone Leaders and
Sister Training Leaders working out of Wan Chai, Kowloon Tong, and Macau
are starting it. But no worries, none of you are allowed to add me! I'm
not allowed to accept you either. It felt super gross to be on
facebook-- like I could see so much time already just slipping away from
me. haha. But it can be a very powerful tool for missionary work, so
I'm grateful we've been trusted with that privilege!
2) We got tri-column language Book of Mormons!! YAY!!! FINALLY!!!!
It has a column of Chinese characters, a column of pihngyam (Romanized
chinese), and English. My reading skills have improved so much Yay! I've
been waiting my whole mission for one of these! Hooray! I will never
lose my Cantonese now! Yay! It's like a Rosetta Stone!
3) The other day we were talking to this lady when we were finding,
and she asked us if we want all over Hong Kong, and instead of telling
her "Us two cover Tuhnglouh Waan, Bak Gok, etc" (Causeway Bay, North
Point, etc), I said "We cover Tuhnglouh Waan, Baak Gaai, etc," which is
Causeway Bay, Park 'N Shop, etc." In case you don't know, Park 'N Shop
is a grocery store. When I realized what I said I couldn't stop
laughing. It was like being brand new all over again and saying all
kinds of things wrong. Except when I was new I didn't know the words for
North Point or Park 'N Shop, so there's still progress I suppose. It
was pretty funny.
4) David, who's been taught for 8ish months, had his baptismal
interview on Saturday! He passed! He's totally ready. But he started
freaking out when we started talking about it. I think he has some
commitment issues. I'm not worried though, he'll come through!
Love you all! Got to go!
Sister Heaton
