This week was good! Today we got summer
missionaries, which are young women from Hong Kong who get to do little
2-week missions with us! My summer missionary's name is Sister Lin, is
16, and seems cool and fun! It's going to be a fun 2 weeks! They're
going to help us find all kinds of new investigators! Yay!
This week was fairly non-eventful, except that we
got a FAMILY to come to church on Sunday! And they plan on coming back!
It was super exciting, because in Hong Kong it is so hard to get
families together and free and both wanting to come to church. It's
usually just moms or other people. So exciting! It was a couple named
Tang, and their little adorable baby. We're really excited about them!
We got a lot of LAs and investigators out to a
relief society activity this last Saturday, and then 3 out of the 5 who
came came to church the next day too! One of the women who came (with
her daughter) is On Ching's aunt who doesn't live in our area, but we
met on the street a few months ago and invited to the baptism, and she
herself showed up at the church to see if there was anything going on,
if we were there, etc. She said things like the Law of Chastity and Word
of Wisdom and Fasting sound really good-- she was like "What other
rules do you guys have?" But when we'd try to teach you, she was just
like "Ahh you just want to preach the gospel to me!" And I was like
"Well you want to hear! You keep asking me all sorts of questions! Let
me tell you the why!" It was funny and really cool. Hopefully she'll let
us teach her soon!
We also got to see Wong Jimuih again! We haven't
been able to get a hold of her or see her for about a month, but she was
very excited to see us and felt really touched by the fact that we
still cared about her. Her dad isn't really wanting her to come to
church, so every time we've called her he's told us she's gone out, when
we know that she rarely has time to go out. Sad. But we will
persevere!
